Default Best Carb set up for 258???

Okay, I'm up on the fence: convince me either way on the 2100, or the EMPI...
I see a cost difference, but that's about it.
I've got the crappy Carter stock set up right now and will convert to one of the above pretty soon.
Buying a 2100 (1.08) from anywhere is just under $100 difference to the EMPI. Which one is better?

Thank you in advance.....unless you're no help whatsoever. Ha!

To do list: finish roll cage, paint, front/rear bumper set up.

I don't know about the EMPI, but I went with an MC2100 and love it.

Got it used off a '78 CJ w/304-$20
    Rebuild kit............................$26
    Adapter...............................$14 shipped

$60 and my CJ runs great! Also did the same to my buddys CJ, same result.

Ditch the fosil and get a TBI set up. If nothing else you can do it with junkyard parts for about the same cost as a Weber. Check out:

If you want the best for performance/off-road, find a 4.0L head (casting 7120 from a 91-95 Jeep), and pull all of the EMPI wiring, injector rails, intake/exhaust manifolds and do it right.

My sweetie wants our CJ to be close to stock in apperance, so I went MC2100 from the crappy Carter, and I'm very happy. Futher mods for me will be the 4.0L conversion, but not the empi (I don't want the computer or the wiring).

I have pics of the throttle linkage set up for my MC2100. If you have a grinder & welder (or a friend that has one) the fab work is simple.

    Later, T.J.

You don't need a throttle linkage, just run the cable straight to the carb. That's how I set up my Weber.
