    Default Studded Tires

Just PCS'd to Kodiak Alaska and I was wondering if anyone knew of any off road tires that are studdable. I currently have 33" nitto's and I dont really want to downgrade to a smaller tire just to have studs. Any ideas?

General Grabber MTs are studdable and a fairly inexpensive tire also. I believe several of the lower end MTs are studdable but I know the Generals are as I use to have those tires.

Next time you get to Anchorage, check out the 33x9.50 BFG AT's that are there. Call the BFG Warehouse (can't remember the number) and tell them you're paying cash....they knock a whole lot off.

Also, Eddie Angel is "the dude" there as far as Jeeps go. I believe it's Northern 4x4 (with website, too)-----lots of garage sales have studded tires for cheap (when peeps PCS, they practically give them away to you) check out the paper or Craig's list for stuff.

Yes, Kodiak is "out there" from Anchorage, but you'll go there sooner or later, trust me.

Dude, enjoy every minute of the Summer, and get outside MUCH in the winter.

I had BFG AT's on my truck and had a set that I didn't trust through the winter (1/4in tread left). I had a guy in my squadron stud them... worked great, got me through winter in Anchorage, and put a fresh set on in the spring.

    Ask around -- I think I paid about $25/tire...and threw in a six-pack...

Man, I miss Alaska -- have fun up there!
