Can you swap a CJ and a YJ frame?
What would you have to do in order to do this?

Default which way are you going with this swap?

The YJ frame is wider and stronger then the CJ. I have put a YJ body on a CJ frame with the CJ front clip and a body lift to clear the steering box.
    Hope this helps

Bessie is the same as C130....works great...

YJ tubs are easier to find. CJ=85, YJ=89.

modified the tub with armor corner plates to not have to move the gas tank, and put the CJ rear gate to keep the "CJ-look".

You need new axles when you swap to a YJ frame too. The YJ frame is so much wider than a CJ the rails nearly hit the drums on wide trac axles. This is why the YJ axles are 60" WM to WM vs the 54" CJ WM to WM. Note YJ it's been getting harder and harder to find a solid YJ frame too. But it's still easier than finding a perfect cj frame. Other issues are the steering box you need the yj box, and the fuel tank.

Thank you guys for your input. I have a friend that wants to get a new frame for his CJ 7 and one of our locals has a YJ frame to off load. Looking to see if I can hook this up.
