    Default INSTRUMENT PANEL doesnt work

89 CHEROKEE just lost my instrument panel lights. my auto trans shifter lights were out started to play iwth the panel and then the 4 wheel selector lights went and then the instrument panel lights went. so i guess i start trouble shooting at the fuse and move on from there. any other ideas?

    OPS Check good:
headlights both high and low, hazards, radio, emergency flashers, turn signals, tailights, reverse, interior lights, headlight switch turns on and off lights and turns interior lights on/off

no go on the instrument panel lights, 4 wheel selector lights, and trans selector lights, and a ring that glows around the cigarette lighter

check in the panel for the auto shifter, found 2 exposed wires pos and neg may have touched and blown fuse

2 morrow i will check all the fuses and cover the exposed wires

You might try pulling the guage cluster to see if th plug in the back is still plugged in good. Mine came loose and the cluster lights didn't work. Reset the plug and all went back to working.

It was a quick blown fuse fix. now i am the proud owner of one of those$15 multi fuse packs, figured it would be a good investment if you need a fuse let me know i have plenty. going to keep some extras in the truck, jeep and wifes car Semper Paratus!
