i am a state rep with NOHVCC and a BOD member with BRC if I can help let me know. I can put local people in touch with OHV professionals to help
I just spoke to a friend of mine that use to run the MWR on Bragg/Pope."Dave Sawicki" He recently moved back to Delaware. He said they had a proposal to build or open a trail system at Smith lake.he said as oppose to keeping soldiers out of the trails/"which they evidently poach under darkness" that they could maintain them and give the off road enthusiast a place to go.He said That recreation chief Joe Johnson was very receptive to the idea. but since Sawicki is no longer there he doesnt know whats going on with it. Also he mentioned some cat in SF "Gary Bowles" was a great help. Maybe someone on post could check outRec Chief "Joe Johnson" and see whats still in the making? Or maybe we can do a meet and greet somewhere on post.Maybe the PX or over at MWR ? any thoughts?Sawicki said last he knew it was in the master plan for the OHV trails.

It would be great to be officially allowed to run OHV somewhere on post, as opposed to everyone running trails where they aren't supposed to be and causing problems with Range Control.
I know that alot of guys run around Smith Lake and Mott Lake, which usually don't cause many calls to the PMO, but it's the clowns running Sicily and other DZ that cause the problems when they interfere with jumps or other training.
believe it or not its the knuckle heads running in the areas behind or in close proximity to live ranges. And yeah your right about the DZ's.especially with no recovery gear and they get stuck. anyway , we need to check with that Rec Chief Joe Johnson and see whats up. Also,we need to get as many proponents as we can. for whatever reason it seems hard to get everyone together. it damn sure isnt the lack of jeep owners . I went to Wilson off road thursday. and between spring lake and downtown Fayetteville i saw every kind of Jeep from stock to crazy modified just about everyone had military personnel operating them or a base sticker. we just have to find a way to get everyones interest. I know MWRoffers group mtn. bike rides /road rides and paint ball . they need to add OHV trips . help me out with any ideas
Will any of the near by 4X4 shops possibly throw in to help support the trails and possibly help with up-keep of the trails? I wish I was back there i would be helping out a lot trying to get this going.

I am sure that there are willing people in area to help or to show those involved how to do proper maintenance, and I can actually get you written info and some names of professionals that both build and service OHV areas if this becomes a reality.
