Default CJ tailgate on a TJ

Someone in the area's got a CJ tailgate/hardware that they're looking to trade for a TJ tailgate/hardware.
Has anyone done it? Doesn't look difficult to swap.
More concerned with how it will fit in the stock TJ tailgate opening or if there's going to be a large gap between the top of the CJ tailgate and the TJ soft top.

I have a CJ tailgate on my TJ and it fits fine. I'm not using any hinges though since mine is permanently attached. The body lines are pretty close and the CJ gate is a little shorter in height. However, if you are going to make it flop down a-la-CJ, I don't think you'll see the small gap at the bottom.

I'll snap some pics of my CJ tailgate on my TJ tomorrow.

Not sure on the TJ application.

I have a YJ softtop on my CJ, and it fits/works great. I just have to unsip the side's of the back window, to open the latches on the tailgate.
