Default Rear wheel issue - AMC 20, CJ7

Ran into a problem today- tried to push the jeep around in the garage, and it wouldn't budge forward - rolled backward just fine though.

Lifted each side of the jeep and discovered that the passenger rear wheel is the culprit. It will roll backward with some normal resistance, but it has a huge amount of resistance if you try to roll it forward, to the point that it would stall the jeep during takeoff from a stop.

Is it possible for a seizure in the brakes to allow the wheel to spin backwards but not forwards? If not the brakes, what else could cause this problem?

    Thanks!

Thanks GP4Play - I'm going to pull them this weekend and see what's going on.

My guess is something loose/broken in the brakes also.

A broken cross shaft in the differential can cuase this also, but you would probably know if you broke the cross shaft!

What would the symptoms be if it were the cross shaft? I'd imagine I'd have no drive to that passenger side wheel, correct?
