Actually, Didn't unbolt and remove it to mount the fairlead. Rather spooled out all the line, threaded it through the fairlead and squeezed my hand between the spool and bumper to thread the washers and nut and to hold a wrench to it. I did not realize my mistake until after I had bolted the bumper back up and re-wired the lights. Figured it was easier to to do that than to remove and repeat.

I had thought about trying to rotate the housing and may give it a shot if I ever take my bumper off again or if it proves to be too much of a problem. AS it is, it does freespool and engage. So long as it continues to do that, I will probably leave it be.

Hey mate...I would reverse the screws that are causing the issue (Note: Ahhhshit, after reading the entire post that was said at lest 100 mines.) and/or use flat headed screws to get them out of the way. It may require a small amount of drilling to counter sink them but the problem will be taken care of.

Kind of curious how well the old girl will hold up...not knocking it bro, just wondering. I am somewhat of a brand person and have always stuck with Warn (up to 3 now) but of course that comes with a price. If yours holds up and is equally as durable then I am the one who invested in INRON.....like I said, not knocking it at all.

The bravest of all Spartans was Dienekes. It is said that on the eve of battle, he was told by a native of Trachis that “the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fire their volleys, the mass of arrows will block out the sun.”

Dienekes, however, quite undaunted by this prospect, remarked with a laugh, “Good. Then we’ll fight in the shade!”

    Fifthpro,
Yeah, I plan to address the screws, but I just ran out of time this weekend. Unfortunately, I think the bumper will become an issue before the screws do so regardless I will have to pay close attention to the line build up when winching.

I am considering replacing the hook with a Safety Thimble and if I do will probably shorten the rope by about 10 - 15 feet to give a little more room in there. I can then use the excess as an anchor line or tree strap (so long as I have a rash gaurd or something around it).
