    Default XJ D44 Shaft removal

I think I already know this but refresh my memory on an XJ D44 the shafts can be removed without messing with the brakes except for drum removal correct?

i have swaped in a XJ D44 into my TJ. so to confirm what others have said before me, yes. all you have to do if you still have drums is to remove the bolts to the retainer plate. but if you have discs (like i upgraded to) you need to remove brake calipers and discs to get to retainer plate bolts.
