    Default 2010 Jeep Jamboree

So Jeep announced the 2010 schedule today on their facebook, below is the direct link. I have never had a chance to attend one so I never really paid attention. Today I thought, why the hell not there is one pretty close to Ft. Hood so I went to look. Then I got sticker shock, they offer personal cheifs at each camp site?

Since I have never been to one, has anyone been? Are they worth this much money?

I can't justify paying that. I've heard good things, but that's way to damn pricey. Jeep would be smarter to cheapen the event.

I was 2009 coordinator for the Killington Jeep Jamboree and I can tell you that it really is a rip off. At Killington you get to wheel on private property in some demanding trails but to be honest, there are some trails here that are just as hard and......FREE

the one at Moab has a trail only for $150 and that's before you take off the 15%. Do that is worth it or do you still think it's a rip?

Still seems like a lot of money to run a trail. $150 could be used for food, gas, and beer if you wanted to wheel with other MJ buds.

Jeep Jamborees have their pros & cons but they can be fun, especially if you don't know the local trails and enjoy having the chance to wheel with people from all walks of life. Since they are open to everyone, they will most likely not appeal to the hardcore rock thrashers however if you enjoy Jeeping, even if you have to follow certain rules and regualtions, I'd say try one.

With that being said I'm signed up for the Killington, VT and Maine Mountains Jambos this year so if anyone is going to those, let me know.

Been to 1 jeep jambo, when I was a stocker back in '99. I recommend at least 1 trip. However, for the money I get more from regular trip with a club.

Jeep Jamboree USA is not Jeep owned, it is it's own company ... and is headed by Mark A Smith. It is however promoted by Jeep now that their own Camp Jeep events have seemed to go the way of the dinosaur.

They are expensive but seem to be a good time for "average" wheeling and getting to meet many different people. I won passes to a Jambo last year and my wife and I attended the Ouachita Jamboree in Hot Springs AR at Superlift Off Road Park. We had a great time and it was a nice family oriented event ... we will probably attend another after the baby is born and is big enough to ride along.
