    Default Skid plate?????

ok i got no armor whatsoever and was wondering if anyone had any advise on what i need? i got an 06 tj and i see alot of deals out there but what will give me the most protection for the money? i live in germany so shipping is the real issue, i dont wanna order something just to find out i could have gotten a better deal, if i gotta pay so be it i'm sure its cheaper than replacing my engine due to a punched oil pan, just wondering what eveyone else is running

Engine, Steering, Gas, and Rockers. Engine first, nothing sucks more than having a hole in your Oil pan.
Rokmen makes a really nice product, not 100% sure but I think they ship to APO's. Sent them an e-mail asking though.

It all depends on what ya do. I went with gas skid from Kilby first then rock sliders never have put one under the engine. But like I said depends on what ya do if your in the rocks alot I would go with engine and gas first then sliders later.

Rockers first. That's what is most likely to get damaged. Engine skid should be high up there on your list too just because of the price of not having one if you actually need it. Then rear corners and gas tank skid. Rokmen makes some great armor. A little pricey, but very well designed to take a beating and not bend up your Jeep in the process of taking that beating.

Before yo uplace an order, I would look into some local fabricators. It may be worth it to have some of it built locally by the time you pay shipping. You can use soem of these other designs for guidelines. I imagine the fabricators are few and far between, but look around, you may get lucky. If not, go with Rokmen or Kilby. You can also check out Savvy Offroad (http://shop.savvyoffroad.com/) They have some aluminum armor which may cost less to ship.

    Default Skid plate?????

I went with LCA, pinion, diff skids, and rock sliders on my 05. That's all I ever had. Never punctured my oil pan, but I knew guys that did. If they make a skid plate for it, there's a reason! LCAs are most vulnerable in my opinion.

Skid Row makes/made good oil pan/engine armor.

I've never taken out an oil pan, though I did dent the CJ one good. (and they came with a heavy plate welded to the bottom)

It's great piece of mind knowing that if the tires do slip off the rock, the oil pan won't be punctured.

I've towed a couple rigs off the trail because of just that.

Here's mine: '33' Engineering flat belly skid, and Skid Row oil pan/engine skid:
