    Default Rust help ?

So I had my TJ in Jax Beach FL for a bit, and when I was discharged I left her in storage until I set my living arrangements up in Cali.
The side guards and front bumper have started to rust and chip all over.

There's a buggy shop right down the street that will sand blast em for me and I can throw whatever paint/material on it afterwards.. but does anyone have another method?

I'll take pictures this afternoon and post them up

    Thanks-
    Doc C

Hit it up with a wire wheel, spray it down with primer, add a few coats of the paint color of your choice, add a few clear coats. Done.
I won't pay anyone to paint bumpers or armor... they're just going to scratch and chip again.

I agree wit Jeff. Just clean it up yourself, save some cash, shoot some cheap-o paint on there till you get them out to your place, then lay into them with the quality. If you want, swing by my place and we can shoot them quick to make them pretty.

Yep dude I got a great fix for ya.
The best stuff I've found is Evapo-Rust. Stuff actually eats the rust and brings the metal back to life. I've got a lot of salvaged square tube I've used it on. It comes in a little jug and i soak a steel wool pad in it and then scrub the area and let it sit for a bit (20 minutes), keeping it soaked. Come back and scrub it with a wire brush and clean it up... will be rust free. I put the stuff in a tupperware and soak bolts in it too...stuff is awsome. I used it on a little frame rust I had too. once it's all cleaned off, prime and paint.

That would take a few minutes with a wire wheel, some spray paint, and sand paper to feather. Not hard at all man! Do it up and post pics.

Wire Wheel and get your self a gallon of Hercaliner at Wal-Mart and put some bed liner on that. It will stop it from ever coming back again. Did the whole inside of my jeep. Think about doing the outside to.
