    Default Jeep Lower Forty Concet

Written up in the April edition of Car and Driver, it's way cool.
    Mopar Jeep Lower 40 concept;
    40" Tires
    390hp Hemi V-8
    6sp tranny
    Dana 44 Front
    Dana 60 Rear
    Both stuffed with 5:38 gears
    ARB Lockers
    2 Passenger capacity
    Approach angle-90 degrees
    Breakover angle- 38 degrees
    Departure angle- 78 degrees
(wrangler rubi comparison, 44, 25 and 40 degrees respectivly)
CJ7 type tailgate that drops down instead of side-swinging

It was written up in an off-road comparison against an ass, no, a real ass, donkey-type. Pretty funny reading the technical comps...cool ass Jeep too!

I'd love to wheel that! They built it basically without any 'lift', to keep the COG low.

They wanted to show off the Mopar design teams 'Skunk Worx" abilities.

I love the high line style fenders. Stuffing 40"'s with no lift? Awsome!

Randy, you know a lot of that work was done in MN??? Dan and crew did the swap and, from what I hear, a bit of other stuff as well.

Cool! I had heard that BOR did the engine swap, but wasn't sure of it.

they sure did nice work, I'd love to get behind the wheel of that monster! I'm happy as long as they keep the concepts coming without IFS, long live solid axels!

Last I heard, executives at Jeep have no plans to change the Wrangler to IFS. They intend to remain solid axle well into the foreseeable future.
