    Default Tube fenders for TJ

Bought a set of Jeep Tubes tube fenders for my tj and for Andreas cj. oleretireddude and Devildog got a set also but are waiting to see how bad I screw mine up first.

So here is the driver side progress so far, the best part of it all was Bryan face when we were attacking my heep with the plasma cutter.

The tubes come prebent top tube and down tube in the fender set $100. I bought the optional flare is is cut long for 8" flares I think also prebent $80. total $180.00 for both sides. You have to notch the tubes to fit.
-The angle iron bolted to the tub, plate for inner fender and the flange to bolt to the grill you have to make. 1st pic
-The stock fender was cut straight down along the tub by the fire wall. 2nd pic
-The inner fender was cut about 1.5" form the outer skin form the bottom rear to the top along the two outer bolts that hold your inner fender on careful you don't cut clip nuts for inner fender bolts. Had to notch the ds tray 2nd pic you can see the tray and where the down tube runs parallel to it.
-Angle iron that bolts to tub is 18.25" long the bolt hole flange is 1.5" wide the other doesn't matter too much (I had 2"x2" angle on hand). Takes you flush with tub skin you may want to cut an extra 1/8" off or whatever thickness plate you'll use to put a skin on, 1st pic; 2nd shows it mounted.
-Use pieces of the stock fender and grill tab for a template to mark and drill 1/2" holes for bolts.

here' is a couple after I got the flare on.
    - I used a level to get the flare position. Level from top tube to flare and the level the flare from front to rear. Two people would of been great for this but I managed alone.
-cut the straight ends off to your desired width (I left it full length) once you have the flare where you want mark it and the other tubes then notch the flare ends. (I used the level to help)
    - once it is in place and you have it all level tack in place and double check positioning. I had to push up a bit to get it level again then added another tack. It held in place then I booger welded the crap out of it.

-you can see where I decided to cut my rocker guards where the fender goes. I only cut the verticle piece out and left the bottom of the 5"x4" angle. I may weld it to the down tube and tub angle then cut across the bottom and it will conect the tub angle and down tube.

The whole thing is now easy to remove.

just have to cut out top skin it'll go from inner fender seem to the top of flare. The hard part will be getting the flare skin to bend along the flare tubes or maybe just cut 3 or 4 flat pieces on the bends for a more boxed look. we'll see how it goes.

for the flare part to ease the bend and make it look right/good get some thinner metal than what you have. Weld the top and heat/hammer till it is where you want then weld away

and at the bottom of the drop tube and wehre it mounts you can just run a piece of 2" flat stock to tie them together however the skins will tie them together nicely

    MAN those are huge flares...LOL

Looking good. No flares on mine. Easier to make it rain mudd on my girls..lol. I bought mine from offroadutopia. Kept as much of original inner fenders as I could. If I ever do it again I will be hi lining the next set for more clearance and better COG. Keep the updates coming
