    Default 4Cyl with 33's...

I currently am running 33's with 4.10 gears. Its really not that bad....IMO. I'm thinking of going to 4.88s. From what i hear gives a nice boost of power back, anybody done it? So it would be a 4cyl tj with dana 30/35, 4.88s and 33's???

I had a tj with 33's that i upgraded to 4.88's and yes it brings back the power...but knowing what i do now...i would change out the d35 as part of the upgrade.

I am running a 4 cyl with 33s and 4.88s. Good (decent) power. On the highway, the rpms are at about 2500ish. Not too bad. I also got rid of the D35, and went with an 8.8. I would not waste my time with a D35, just my opinion. Do you have a manual or auto?

If you can afford to swap gears then it's going to be your cheapest power booster as the 4 cylinder is never going to be a power monster, no matter what you throw at it minus a supercharger/turbocharger. I'm not a fan of factory axles but if that's what you have to work with I say upgrade your gears, add a intake, headers and exhaust and stay with 33's. HTH

Are you going to stay withy 33s or go bigger? Some people have good luck with a S35 kit. Do you plan on a locker? I have about $1100 into my ford 8.8. That's parts (axle, TJ brackets from MORE, gears, and install) I burned on the brackets myself. If you can weld (or know someone who can) an 8.8 upgrade is really only 400-500 more (which presumably you would spend on a Super 35 kit).

If you put in aftermarket (alloy) shafts, no locker, and stay off the skinny pedal, then you should be fine.
