    Default Jeeps and Hand guns

i have a 2010 JK unlimited sport, i am currently in law enforcement and looking for the best ideas to secure my personal hand gun in my vehicle with the top down and doors off. the factory lockable glove box and center console seem easy to pry open, and i have been looking at lockable overhead consoles and up grades for the factory ones as well, my question is what types of ideas or methods do any of you use currently?

I'm thinking about doing this. They're not extremely expensive and available locally.

you wouldnt want it to look like a lock box at a glance. Ive been thinking if an ammo can bolted under the hood opposite side of teh battery.

I picked up a lock box at Cabella's that has a cable that secures the box to the seat frame and keep mine under the seat.

I mounted one of the gunvaults under my seat, had to use risers on the seat mounts to get it high enough. I painted it kinda crappy on purpose to make it not look worth anything.

Tuffy security products are decent. If someone really wants in they'll get in to whatever you use, just how long it takes is what matters. Tuffy stuff looks the best if you're concerned about looks.

IMO, get the Tuffy and don't look back. The peace of mind is worth it. Will it stop the determined aggressor who has all the time he needs - no - will it slow him way down - yes

X2 on the Tuffy! They are hard to beat. They also make a great underhood box.
