    that chart is way off.

stock can do 31's no problem

2" lift will do 33's no problem

    4" with do 35's

    5" will do 37's

and 4.5" with high line fenders will do 39.5's no problem.

Sorry if I sound out of line but I've had 33 inch buckshots under my 03 tj with no mods to suspension or fenders. Granted the stockness kept me from flexing as much as some of y'all but ya know. The flares were in a bind but mudded like that for over a year. Now I have 32s under the same and no rub unless I flex it out.

Agreed. I think my TJ came with 30's... I put a 2"BB lift on it with 32's with no prob. Then I put 33's on it with no problem on the 2"BB for a few weeks before I got my 4" suspension installed. I am running 35's now on the 4" lift with nothing more than a little bit of rubbing when flexed. Run your 31's and have fun with them until you go bigger and higher!!!

2001 TJ 4" lift, 35" Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's, HP D30/D44 with 4.88's, ARBs and chromolys, AA SYE, TW rear driveshaft, too much other junk to list here...

Also depends on what brand tires you go with. One company's 31's can be the same size as another's 32's, so make sure you find out those measurements first.

I ran 32x11.5" BFG KM2s on a 2" BB with stock wheels for a few months. I didn't rub on the fenders at all, but they rubbed hard on the sway bar/lower control arms at about 3/4 steering lock, which made parking suck.
