Default Changed My Second Cat Today.

A couple of weeks ago I had my mini cats changed and it improved the performance of my Jeep some, mainly increased gas milage. I was still having what seemed like low power. If I was crusing with the cruise control on it would kick down when going up some inclines.

On my drive to Okla., in the mountains and hills of Missouri and Oklahoma it was kicking down tooooooooo often. So today I went to the muffler shop here that put on my flow master muffler and had them change the larger cat after the mini cats. When he got it off, he showed me that it was partically blocked, probably at least 35% or better blockage.

I will be going back to Michigan next week Wed. and hope to see an improvement. Time will tell.

If you do not have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time do do it over?

I had about 254,xxx on the minis and 258,xxx on the big one.

Never thought about checking since I have so many miles on my Jeep. Will have to look in my owners manual.

    Default Update after trip home

Well the large cat seemed to have fixed the power loss problem. On my trip home to Michigan from Oklahoma the Jeep really climed the hills good without kicking down as much. It only would kick down on the really steep hills.

It seems to have more power in the gas pedal too. Do not have to push as hard to get it going. gas milage seemed to be better also by a little.
