    USMC Check Engine

Again. It happened on for a while at 40k miles (until I disco'd the battery) and now it's at 55k and happening again. I'm going to disco the battery again and see if it stays cleared, but i've been driving for a week with it on with no problems. Does Jeep just want me to pay for dealer maintenance?

i might pull the code.... but it wasn't indicative of a problem 15k miles ago when it pulled this crap before. Also my commander did it to- cleared it, went to the dealer, no problem.

If you clear it, the code disappears and the dealer won't be able to read it.
It could be something as simple as a bad seal on your gas cap, but it may be something more serious.

yeah but if you clear it and it doesn't come back it means the problem is resolved. I guess i'm the only person with the reaccuring light demon in my jeep.

Give me a call tomorrow, I could trouble shoot the code/clear it. I'm off tomorrow, so if your working at 33 area I could meet you there. Let me know!

Well my check engine light is very sporadic some days it is on and some days it isnt, I have changed all the likely issues but it still continues to come on. However... I am pretty sure that at 255k miles the light probably doesnt mean much as long as the jeep is still running strong, ALSO with my year i went to autozone and they did not have the equipment to read the code and there are no advance auto parts which makes me sad...

So all in all clearing it may be a good idea but at the same time it is always best to at least get the code checked just in case it is a serious issue that if caught early can be fixed cheaply

An O2 sensor code will repeat itself after being cleared if the new sensor isn't installed. Easiest to just go get it read especially when it's free.
