Talking I've got an AWESOME Friend!!

Right now a buddy of mine, who just lost his job, is at my house fixing my Jeep while I am at work. I'm giving him some money to do it, but he's already done WAY MORE than I asked him to do. It could possibly be road ready by the time I get home today!

.. Now, I just hafta figure out where I put the key 2 YEARS AGO....

Maybe I'll just be buying a new ignition.

It is good to have friends like that... See now you can pay him a bit more, helping him out as he is jobless right now, to replace the ignition too... It is an awesome cycle...

Update: Jeep drove all around town for a couple hours today... So, it "works" in the loose sense of the word. a couple small fixes and it should have been inspection ready.. but then....

My rear wheel (the one hubby popped off) started wobbling. Stopped & tightened the lugs. Went about 5 miles and the wobble returned. Took the wheel off and remounted it.. still wobbling & taking no time at all to do it.

Got a second pair of eyes to take a look at it, but no one knows whats up with the wheel but the frame is twisted 5 ways from sunday. So, the ole boy is going to the body shop tomorrow. No tellin how long he will be in ICU or how much it will cost me.

.. Can "ObamaCare" extend to Jeeps in your family?? I wish. I might need a bailout!!

Good for you, bet it felt good to drive it again. Are you going to feed your friend some wild boar BBQ.
I'm Mike, make sure you spell it right, because I do not want to get the wrong A$$hole in trouble.

If you do not have time to do it right the first time, how do you have time do do it over?

Update : Body shop thinks the frame is fine on the YJ. THinks its a bent axel making the wheel wobble. Hoping to seek and find in the junk yard this weekend. There are no Jeeps in Texas junkyards. I've heard Ford Exploder axels will work fine.

Any other suggestions for axel swaps??

8.8 out of a '90's explorer is a good swap, and stronger than even a D44. Cheap and effective, make sure the gears are the same as what you have, but if you can, do it.
