YOu might be able to just open the clamps and not need the bolt. I thought is would open more on droop.

While I had 33's on for the past 4yrs, the leafs never opened greater than 1/2".

Now I have 32bolt weld in beadlocks and 35" KM2's I'll be trying out at Camp MJ, so hopefully will be able to open the springs a bit more on droop. We'll see.

Dropping 1 leaf from each front pack did allow alot more articulation. I avg about 6" more in droop.

Have you had any negative side effects by removing a leaf.........what spring packs are you running?

I think my leafs were Rough County and for a hard top, thus the rear is a LOT stiffer.

Just had to increase the size of the bumpstops. After this weekend w/ the trail cutting I think I'm rubbing more in the wheelwell, but a hammer will solve that little bit.

Yup, grab a bag o 50 - 2.5"x1/4" Gr5 bolts at Fastenal, ended up cheaper than indivi from home depot Gr2. Doing the whole thing was actually easier than I expected. Whole purpose was to flip the U-bolts and since was there did the leafs.

Any bad arching or bending in the springs? Did they change shape......I'm thinking of removing a leaf, flexing them out, then if need be adding it back once the springs are broken in to gain the height "if" necessary.

Nope no odd arching or bends..yet.. I'm not easy on it, so I may eventually. When I did pull a leaf, they do tend to squat a bit, but not that much. I only allow for 4" uptravel and think it was able to do 12" droop, but only did 8 with the 33's. Been too lazy to check the droop w/ the 35".

    Nice pic.

Wait till it's all said and done before you pull a leaf. Test it as is with the full weight of the vehicle (like someone above said).

RE springs are bout the best you can get and are super flexy. Run your setup as is before you start tweakin it. It might surprise you, as sometimes looks can be decieving.
