    Default Brake chime

Just got back from Afghaniland and had my front, rear bumper w/tire carrier, side rails, wheels and tires installed on my "03 TJ (pics soon). Now, my "brake" light on my instrument panel wont stop dinging intermittently. After checkin my fluid level, looking for leaks, pinched or punctured brake lines, seeing if something was possibly keeping my E brake from disengaging all the way, I decided to take it to the dreaded dealership mechanic. $300 bucks later, it's still doing it. He replaced the sensor located directly under my master cylinder and bled my lines. It's braking fine..no scraping noises, no mushiness...nothing..I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas? If I could figure out how to turn the damn thing off Id be happy at this point.

Is this the same light that comes on when you set your parking brake? If it is it may be the switch on the parking brake. If it's misadjusted or just going bad it may be making contact off and on and causing the chime to go off.

Same light. That would make sense as it seems to happen more when I hit bumps. Is that under the dash or near the E brake handle somewhere?

It should be part of the e-brake handle. I've got a copy of the TJ FSM at home. If I get a chance I'll take a look and make sure.

going to find that switch today. I found a copy of the TJ FSM online. If the switch actually needs to be replaced, it's an eight dollar fix. Hope my wife doesnt find out...lol
