Can't say thay I have. What would be the advantage beside a little more hp? I don't know if the challenges override the benefit. Unless you want to be able to say "Because I could!" Interesting - good luck. I'll b looking forward to your decision and progress if you decide to go for it.

    Default ...why?

    I agree with devil dog...
    Why?
Just 'cause...well, that on you. Not gonna fault anyone that wants to try something different. But I think you will find this a VERY LARGE electrical nightmare. Just my thoughts though.
Why not, if you have the need for Oomph..., build a 4.6, 4.7, or 5.0 stroked 4.0ltr? Check out JPs recent mag and you can see the numbers possible...Though why, again...is a bit beyond me. But I am old enough now to enjoy the green in my wallet instead of scattered all over the trail...

I was just thinking instead of all the money and time of building a stroker to just swap out the whole drive train from a bronco or 1/2 ton..... ford's I6 is a very good engine also. Another plus is I have only seen extreme engine build up of a 4.0L to even get close to a 4.9..... and with the ford engine, could build it up and still have a realiable I6 with alot of power and torque...... Again...... Just thinking and type'in

I'm sure it would be a tight fit if it even fit at all.... Just wonderin' if anyone had heard of it being done, seen it, or even thought of it.....

    Default Allways sounds easy...

I should have that as my personal theme song.
But here, again, is my opinion...
    Golen engine 4.6ltr stroker
    270hp/320ftlb $3599.00 or
350hp/360ftlb $4999.00 if you add a turbo or 'charger...
And its a bolt in, use all your existing stuff, upgrade! And Fresh to boot!

    Swapping in a used Ford...
    cost of parts
hours spent figguring it all out (if it fits)
    making everything else work...
    Maybe less...prob. more! $$$

All your choice and I will watch either way you go (if you post pics!) but If I had some coin and wanted to buy ponies...I'd go the stroker bolt in route!
