    Default Fenders trimmed too much?

I'm talking to a guy about buying his XJ, and I ran across a potential issue...

I want to run some Bushwacker Fender Flares, but I see that he's already trimmed his fenders. The only pictures included (for now) show how much they're trimmed.

After looking in the PDF manual for the flares, it looks like he cut too much for me to run these. Am I right about them being trimmed too much? Anyone have any experience or insight?

    Thanks,

    Jace

My buddy has bushwackers on his xj and they are crap in my opinion. They are overpriced and crackm and break easily. The amount of lift needed for an xj is silly and most end up trimming and I beleive hammering in fender wells to help with tires. I saw some home fabbed tube fenders for an xj that looked fairly functional and tough

I had Bushwackers and hated them also. They are very easy to crack and break if you use off road at all. I you're staying on the road, they look good, but that's about it. I went to Xenon and they're great.

Well, I'm going to need some kind of flares to cover the tires to pass an inspection. Any recommendations?

if you really want the bushwackers just re drill the mounting holes and make it work. Or you can get some aftermarket extended and make them work.

Sounds like people have had bad experiences with the Bushwackers. I'm looking into other brands right now...

    Thanks everyone!

Flares are $90 each, $179 for a set of two (front or rear) or all 4 for $349

It's looks kinda ghetto, but I have seen it used to pass inspection as tire coverage. Don't know how bad your inspections are though.
