Default HP D30 unit bearing differences

In the middle of the '99 XJ model year, they changed the style of unit bearing for the HP D30 axle. (HP=High Pinion)
The unit bearing on the left (with remainder of bolts sticking out) is from the earlier HP D30.
The one on the right is from a late '99 XJ.

You can see that not only is the shoulder shorter on the later style, but the distance between where the wheel mounts and where the unit bearing mounts, is about 3/8" different.
The late '99 XJ's also take a different rotor.
Don't ya just love when they change things up? Especially in the middle of a model year
Oh well, Jeep has been doing it for over 60 years, it must work!

I'm not sure about the TJ's, but I believe they also had a change around the same time.

Those who stand in defiance of unconstitutional laws
do so out of duty, honor, oath and love of country.
