    Default Wftw-sa aar

I'm in need of an AAR for this weekends event. Both negative and positive comments appriciated, but please make them constructive. We want to improve what we feel is an important event.

    Jerry,
Once you get your AAR complete maybe you can forward it to me as I would like to build a SOP for WFTW events...

Problem: Very few Soldiers showed up.

Suggestion: We make coordination with WTU leadership to do a "show and tell" with our vehicles and a brief on what WFTW is all about and what to expect when they get there.

I'll post more as I think of them. This was the first thing that came to mind.

Thanks, Jerry, and the Midnight Wheelers for putting on a great even. Kudos to the off-road community for the tremendous amount of support and effort put into this event (there were a TON of drivers/ vehicles and volunteers!!).

Agree on the amount of warriors, it was better than last year but I heard that there were many more confirmed than actually showed up. What was the final count? About 80 or so?

The shuttle idea from the tent to area B was a good idea, allowed for more wheeling.

Staging medical personnel at the tent, area B and on the trail was a good idea, shame we needed their services at area B - hopefully she is good to go.

Good time of year - not too hot, you do it sooner you gamble with rain and later it gets miserable with the heat - not so bad for us but might hinder participation

The meals were damn good - hats off to the whole bunch who jumped on that for us. They seemed a little overwhelmed at lunch, might consider two lines like was done for dinner. That is a tough job and they worked their asses off. You should have seen the look on Bunker's face when he found out that he had to be at the tent at 0500 - he didn't complain but you could see the "fuuuuuuccckkkkk" in his expression. Like I said, the meals were good to go - breakfast kicked ass.

Good having stuff for the kids to do

Good start time - it is tough with the troops coming from SA, they have to leave early enough already so 830ish is early enough to enjoy a day.

I think the Order of the Purple Heart folks are great and add value to the event as well as the Honor Guard.

I didn't spend much time in the tent (except for chow) but saw that some celebs were there signing autographs, that is cool as well - they signed all damn day and I didn't hear any complaints. Hats off to them

I can't speak for how it went at area B or on the trails.... I should be healed up for next years run.

I know it is a lot of work, you guys did a kick ass job - just continuous improvement on what is already a good thing.
