well 35's are dana and came with drum brakes anyway. should have a rubber plug. hope it helps.
So how can you? I was looking at my buddies tj and for some reason he has drum brakes. I'm thinking he has a regular 35 swapped from a yj. It is a dana diff cover though.

I doubt his 35 was swapped in. Lots of TJ's came from the factory with rear drum brakes.
Here are a couple more axle ident links:

05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.
the 35 "c" just means custom. chrysler would ordre D35 housing, brakes, and shafts, and run what ever gear pattern they wanted in them. thats all the C mean. A D35 can have either drum or disk, just depends on what it came in. you can get a D44 in a sahara and other option packages.
The D44 was in all rubicons, and it was a factory option in Sport and Sahara models.
For models 97 and newer, if it has a rubber fill plug, it's a D35. If it's got a metal fill plug it's a D44.
The D35 is also an oval/round shape while the D44 has 6 sides to it.
thanks for the info ill look tomorrow
