u have an aussie up front just like your daddy
Here are my options. I don't have the money to drop for a selectable rear right now and don't want to have to put a locker in after the regearing. I would rather get it done in one shot.
ausie (like i have on the front) <-- corrected because steve knows my jeep better than me
lock right

The Yukon and Detroit are essentially the same...for his application, save the cash and do the Yukon Grizzly.

If this Jeep still gets driven on the street, WAIT - save some more money and do it right with a selectable locker in the rear. You may not be in the snow now but the Army could assign you anywhere..........
Why have your axles apart, spend the amount you are already going to spend, and then NOT go with a selectable?![]()
05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.
If your going to need a new carrier, get the full Detroit. If you don't you can get the aussie. (if your Jeep has 373's you will need a carrier if it has 410's you will not) IMHO There is no reason to turn off a rear locker. It's a waste of money to put a selectable into the rear axle. I am building 2 sets of axles at this time. I have a CJ-7 and a CJ-8, they will both be running full detroits in the rear and selectables up front. (where they are needed most) I'm leaning to OX for that because they are stand alone.
