    Default Camp mjmw aar

Well in our own Military Tradition here is the AAR thread.
I ask we try (I say TRY because I know this group) to keep this productive. For every improve given give a sustain (mean for every bad give a good) I will give this thru the weekend and try to summerize it so whoever takes over CAMP MJMW next year has a platform. I WILL NOT be taking part in CAMP MJMW next year except maybe as a participant, I MAY be inclined to plan and execute a CAMP MJ SE if we can get interest going.

    Improves:
    1. Take better group photos
    2. Do raffles during daylight hours and during sobriety for the Coordinator
    3. Try to work a back up plan to the plan for whos riding what group
    4. PREPAY for anything that includes $$ Exchange (if we didn't have our women and children pushing shirts and stickers like crack we'd have been screwed by no shows)

    Sustaions:
    1. Choice of location, keep locations with A+ amenities
    2. Dates. keep it on a long weekend
    3. keep raffles free
    4. keep group meals

    Improve:
    1. Try and reserve camper sites (get count prior) next to the tent site to keep group together
    2. All raffles during day light

    Sustain:
    1. Location
    2. Big ticket raffle prizes (at least one)
    3. Keg
    4. Group meal (Sign up sheet prior to event)

All in all I though it wnet good. Thanks to Fred and Larry for all your work getting it going. Couldn't have been such a success without you two.

    Sustain:
    -Ditto Location wth A+ facilities.
    -Pot Luck Dinner
    -Keg
    -Tent
    -Long term planning
    -Big Ticket Items

    Improve:
-Day time drawing with promt photo ops
-Request direct contact info on all participants and follow up periodically prior to event to ensure head counts. Send out a registration form to all participants, this form could have an order form section for T-shirts, Stickers, Coozies, etc. Have this form turned in far enough in advance to make appropriate orders for items. At least there would be minimal out of pocket money prior to the event.
-Coordinated daily ice run (someone with a pickup or SUV not used for the trails)
-Bring a tall A-frame ladder for elevated photo taking position for group photo.
    -Media support (Local, Regional, National)

    New suggestion:
If we are piggy backing on with another event (Show Me Fun Run) maybe donate an item for their drawing. We always seem to get alot of donation and support from the facility and staff (tent), why not give something back? If this is a once a year event for our group we could work on this item all year long with Show and Shine events, individual donations, etc..I got this idea from the jeep group from OK.

    Just a thought,

    Sustain:
    Pot Luck Dinner
    Long Term Planning
A+ Facilities with someone there a day early for final coordination
    Keg
Big Ticket Items Gratz again stork and Rubi
Running list for group ride break downs and who is riding with who.
Keep Fred as the CMJ Drunk. He is fricking Hilarious ! Damn dummy humper
    Square Raffle for Charity
    Long Weekend
Group Lead and Tail gunners with CB's and winches/straps in groups

    Improve:
Think some one above me mentioned it already, but send out a registration form and have T-Shirts / Stickers / drinky from kegy listed on it and if they want those items, return the form with the $ for them. Thanx kids and girls for not letting the out of pocket members loose to much money.
Better location for pictures. Only jeeps that we can really see on the ones in the front rows.
Agree also on getting tent / camper locations co-located.
    Make Fred a better speller.
Have raffle during the evening, but not as late as we did. Cooler then vs mid-day. If done at SMORR again, maybe the Pavillion.
Have picture taker lined up already so when ever someone wins, pic is taken then.
Agree on the Ice Run, altho we did find out that SMORR does sell ice at about $.75 more than other places.
Stick with the times a lil better. We were suppose to be lined up and ready for pics at 0830. Finally were ready about 0920. Lots of grumbling.
    More Ice on the Keg.

As a side note, we could consider renting one of the MWR tow behind gas or charcoal grills for the official dinners. This would allow for more organized cooking experience. Plus I think it would be a little safer than having a lot of smaller "trip over grills" for kids, drunks and just otherwise feeble members of our group to avoid.

Thre may be other organizations who have this type of grill the may allow us to use it for free.

May be we could see about getting a tow be hide grill or making one for the MJer. It could be used for camp's, weekend runs, show & shines, or fund raisers to help pay for other things to.

I am sure that if enough chipped in we could build one somewhat like the ones that MWR offers for rent

I agree with all recommendations for next years event. I will be willing to pony up some $$ and time to help build the grill. Of course there will have to be beverages present during the build.
