    Default Ditty Move

So I'm doing a partial ditty move and taking off every piece of weight I can manage on my jeep before I get weighed. Would it be possible to drive without the transfercase skid plate/cross member or would that put too much stress on the driveline? Just wonderin cuz that thing weighs like a good 60 -70 lbs.

You risk destroying your transmission, transfercase and both axles if you attempt to drive with that plate off.

The plate is what supports the tranny/transfer case.

Pull all the seats that you are not occupying to drop a little weight. You can also borrow or trade someone a soft top for a hard top if you havent already.Throw some stock size tires and wheels will drop a bit of weight as well.

    Default Wow...!

And I thought I was cheap...LOL! No, Do NOT remove the Skid/Crossmember! Bad JuJu!!!
Other ideas here that work well...
Seats..If your alone and your butt isn't in it..take it out!
If your running huge tires...Go to the junkyard ange get 4 emergancy spares...
As little gas as possible...just make sure you have enough to get where you need to go!
No top and a jacket (if needed weights less than any top!
Remove any junk...Metal center console, speakers if you have a "boom box", personal stuff...
Carpet can usually be removed as well.
You could even pull the front driveshaft if you wanted...And maybe the tailgate?
    Good luck!

Take off the wheels and tires too. Dem sumbitches weigh a ton.

Also. 70 lbs will get ya bout 50 bucks. Have fun with all that work taking it off and putting it on for that much money.
