i had a stage 2 in my YJ with 4.0, its definitely helped a little up top and that was about it. mileage got worse cause now i could get it on it and it would move out of its own way.
Any one use a after market programmer? I have a 2005 TJLJ with and auto trans. I run a Hypertech in my Tahoe and it tightened up the trans shift and improved my mileage 3 to 4 MPG. I am looking to do the same on my unlimited. Any body have good luck with one?

I have the Hypertech for about 3 years now on my JK and love it!

I use the Hypertech on my '02 TJ and it does help, however not sure if I save enough gas to offset the requirement to run premium fuel on the max power setting as I only notice about .5 mpg improvement to go with the power increase. It does come in handy diagnosing computer error codes. On the newer Jeeps you can also reprogram your speedometer to match changes in tire size and gear ratio. I have the 5-speed so I can not modify my transmission shift patterns.
