    Default Taking off the cat

Anyone take off your cat and straight pipe it? Mine is clogged up, and am thinking about just getting rid of it all together. Thoughts?

Doesn't matter what local emission regs are... fed regs state that you vehicle has to have the same amount of cats on it that it came with from the factory, or face a $10k fine.

You should be able to find a high flow replacement for around $100, cut out the old one and weld it in place, or hold it in place with exhaust clamps.

I don't think you'll notice much in performance gains between no cat and high flow cat.

Its on a TJ. I know our local shops will do it for me, but they make you pay in cash and don't give a reciept. It's not legal, but I'm never gonna sell my jeep, so who's ever gonna know? Aside from legal BS, I just didn't know if anyone noticed any extra power from having it off, compared to high flow cats.
