Default So, I started the prep work for the Herculining.

Today I ripped out the carpet and with the help of some kind folks here, removed the rear and passenger seats. I also disconnected the rear seat belts and then stared at the jeep for about 2 hours wondering what I go myself into.

This week I will do all the prep work and hopefully have some anchor points welded in the rear of the jeep. I should be herculining the jeep this coming weekend.

I have been thinking of doing this to my YJ. How are you going to apply it Spray it, roller it, or brush it? I had Line X spray a bedliner in my pickup and it turned out nice but they want $550 to do the inside of my YJ and thats with me removing everything. I thought that was too high.

Keep your floor mats I lost mine and my feet ended up wearing through the herculiner under the pedals.

Took out the part of my console that has the sub woofer in it. I also tried to get the rails for the rear seat off, but ran into some issues trying to get the front two torx bolts out. I will wait until I have more help for that so someone can apply downward pressure while the bolt is turned.

This week I will remove the front of the console and start prepping the inside to get rid of the glossy paint as instructed in the herculiner directions.

I will use the foam ear plugs as suggested in another post here, but come Saturday, all the prepwork and most of the taping off will be done.

Did you already buy the Herc stuff?

I had done this years ago with my old CJ. The prep was not bad...I think I spent a couple of hours on it sanding and degreasing. The application was very easy...I used the roller and brush method. I'm looking a doing something similar to this with my TJ but I think I'm going to use the "Raptor" product...the Herc stuff was just a little too rough...the "Raptor" stuff is less abrasive.

Make sure you wear some gloves, long sleeve shirt and pants. It took well over a week for the stuff to wear off my arms.
