Default Back seat bracket help needed...2006 wrangler.

I stripped out the interior to have the tub line-x'ed and now I dont remember which way the backseat brackets face. There are 4 brackets total, two of which have arrows pointing forward...the other two don't. Can someone please take a look under their backseat and let me know. Mine is a 2006. Thanks!

I have an 06, but from what I could see I only have two brackets holding the back seat to the floor...one on each side.

There should be two brackets that the seat clip down on to. There should also be two brackets that the seat pivots up and down on. If your seat is folded up, then it is the two exposed brackets that I need help with (they are closest to the rear door). I just need to know if the side with the little notch faces forward or backwards. A pic might help too. Thanks!

Not sure if this will help. I have a rack in the back and the kids car seats are a pain to totally take out so I did the best I could in the dark. This is the first time the seat has been lifted in over a year and now I know I need to clean that sucker out a little better. All that stuff in the back is from taking Steve's (rescueyj) bypass at Marble Falls.

I can probably get better shots tomorrow if you need them.

Hmmm....our brackets are different. Thats wierd. Are you running an aftermartket seat? Also, you mentioned having a child's car seat in the back. Is it a pain to get the kids in and out? My son is eight months old and has never been in the jeep. I figured I would wait until he was old enogh for a forward facing seat.

Thanks for all the help Miljeep!!!

We have an unlimited, so that may be the issue with the different seat brackets.

It is not really tough getting the kids in and out, but the height of the jeep due to the lift and larger tires makes it so you cannot just stand outside the jeep and do all the work strapping them in their seats. Luckily we have a bunch of stuff bolted onto the jeep that we can stand on as we are doing the work getting the kids in and out.

Maybe someone else will be able to help out. Good luck.

I have an 06 TJ, I'll go check here in just a few minutes and see if I can offer any help. OK, just finally looked. The two rear brackets will be positioned so that the striker bar is toward the front of the Jeep. If they are reversed the will not hit the latching mechanism on the seat. If you still need more help let me know and I'll post a pic but it should be simple enough without it.
