    Default *%^#@! Chrysler!

Well here's to Chrysler and one of the most idiotic designs on a seat I have ever seen! After taking a close look at my pax side seat (see the Question about Jeep seats thread) I found out that the problem was that one end of the cable had pulled out from the press fitting.

Here's what it was connected to

and this is what the cable went to on the bottom of the seat

So...looks like I am stuck lifting the seat manually for now. I don't see me replacing the cable before I replace the seats.

i dont see how your luck and getting stuck with a 1-1000 chance of having this happen and it happens to you makes this a fault or schitty design. all jeep are huge pos's, they will leave you stranded, broke down, and broke at some point. they just wait for the most inoportune time to do so. so if yours hasnt happened yet, just wait it will. my 91 was great never had an issue nothing, till my wedding day and i was running around getting some last minute schit.

How is this Chrysler's fault looks to me by the pics there is a lot of water damage, just look at the rust even then inside of the seat is showing water damage.

The wire was just press fitted. Would have been a matter of time anyway before it broke. And...I bought the Jeep in Hawaii...rust is inevitable there.

Yeeper, yeah I've had stoopid shiite happen at the most inoportune times. I'm just mad 'cause I was really hoping it was something simple...but...as the wife pointed out...there's not much point in getting all pi$$y about since I'm planning on replacing the seats eventually anyway. She's a smart woman!
