    Default Breaking down a winch

Ok, So i am sure by now you are all getting sick of me looking for a winch. But I have a question that when answered might help me get a winch over here. So here goes. How far can you breakdown a winch in order to get it in multiple packages and sent to me? I was thinking of ordering a winch and using one of the free shipping options that are out there to have it sent to one of my brothers, but I need to tell him how far to break it down. Then he can put it seperate boxes to make the weight limit to ship it to my FPO address.

You can break them down pretty good.

The motor will be the heaviest part, I would think, and the drum probably the biggest.

I think afjeep has the best bet, find someplace that will ship to an APO/FPO

I have tried everyone who ships to FPO/AP and it is not that they wont ship things to FPO/AP, it is the fact that they are above the weight limit for the USPS. The limit for anypackage going through the mail is 70 lbs. Most Winches run shipping weight at 85lbs.

What winch are we talking bout??? if you get someone to pull the wire, control box and everyrhing else in the box, and ship it in a diferent box you should be ok. The cable alone is like 15lbs and some winches come with the cable separated from the winch for the buyer to reel in (Gorilla, Viper).

We do have Fedex and DHL here but when I checked on shipping, it was going to cost about 200 bucks to ship it.

Right now I am looking at any winch that I can get my hands on and over here for under 500 bucks total. I wish I had the big bucks to spend but I dont. My minimum weight that I am looking at getting is 8500 Lbs.
