    Default trail dog issue

ok my lab is 13 wks old and semi house broke. He goes outside and does his thing, barks when he needs out. but like twice a day 10-20 mins after being out he pisses inside. need some ideas on how to get him past this. It is getting old.

Not for the weak at heart, however grab him up by his neck and rub his nose into the pee while you smack his ass with a rolled up newspaper. After about the third time of this it will all end

    OR
He will be scared for life and every time you go to get a newspaper it will pee all over the place again.

But what do you have to loose really?

The bravest of all Spartans was Dienekes. It is said that on the eve of battle, he was told by a native of Trachis that “the Persian archers were so numerous that, when they fire their volleys, the mass of arrows will block out the sun.”

Dienekes, however, quite undaunted by this prospect, remarked with a laugh, “Good. Then we’ll fight in the shade!”

make him stay out till he pee's then reward like crazy. we have 2 labs now and both were fairly easy to train. consistency and repetitiveness are key.

Stick with it like mentioned above. We had a Husky and even after house training, they still have problems when they get excited. It turned out to be something that we had to live with. We rubbed his nose in it what ever mess he made and immediately after we rubbed his nose in it we put him outside.

Deffinately needs to be rewarded once he does his business outside... it's a puppy... a lot of work and patience will pay off. Good luck!

yeah. Postive reenforcement seems to work best. I read a bunch of books before I got mine. I lucked out because my room mate had the liter, so I had her from birth. But, I got her on a set schedule, and used to her kennel, and had her house broke and kennel broke by 8 weeks. If she's peeing right after, i'm guessing it's an excitement thing. Simply ignore her during this period. Don't even make eye contact. She'll grow out of it. Also, they say if you plan on getting females fixed, do it before their first heat cycle. 4-7 months of age, and it won't change their temperment as much. Good luck! I love my lab, she's great.

I don't believe in rewarding for going out to relieve him/herself. I have an 8 month old lab and had her house broke at 10 weeks and got her at 7 weeks. My method is about every 20-30 minutes I put her out. I would usually go out with her. If watching TV at night, every commercial put 'em out. The dog learns that their business is to be done outside. If you reward the dog everytime they go outside, they start to expect it. They haven't worked for the reward. Of course, I'm training a hunting dog, so I make her earn her keep and her rewards. Just my .02 cents

take him to the vet. dusty and joey initially took to house training and crate training with zero issues. then joey started doing stupid shit like you were saying. turns out he had a ****ing UTI and couldn't help it. then i felt like an asshole for beating his ass when the dbag was just sick.

8 months after his UTI, he has small crystalizations in his piss. should just take care of this problem old school, but i love this dog. an anti biotic and he's good.
