Default What is an extra 3 inches really worth?

OK, so that was about as catchy a title as I could think of...

I am looking at SYE's from the various manufacturers out there. The "super short", "mega short", "extreme short" etc. SYE kits all claim to be 3 to 3.5 inches shorter than the "regular SYE kits".. For quite a premium in price.

The Teraflex Extreme is about $120 more than their normal kit.
The JB Conversions Super is $100 more than their normal kit.
Rugged Ridge is similar, as are the others I looked at.
Doesn't look like AA has a shorter version yet, but I am sure they will jump in.

I am putting D44's SOA under my YJ. I will either run stock springs with a few extra leafs or the RE SOA 1.5" springs. So I am expecting 5-6.5" of lift.

So, in "short", are those extra 3 inches of shaft length worth the extra cash?

It completely depends on what you want your Jeep to do.

I am going SOA on waggy D44's. I plan to run "near stock" springs to try to keep it from getting too high. I want to be able to enjoy it but also be somewhat reasonable for my wife to drive when she wants. I also have a 14 yr old husky that has been my traveling companion for 13 yrs. He doesn't leap 6" fences like he used to..

yes, my dog plays a major part in most of my life decisions..other than those that lead to my spending years at a time in far away places.
