    Default clocking a D300??

I've got my JB conversions order, well the first (the other's are gonna have to wait JUST a bit)

this thing is THICK!!! I JUST might be able to use my stock rear shaft without the Tcase drop when this is installed.

OK Now the question, when I clock it up, should I use the original amount of oil in it? or will that be too much? I'm just trying to figure this out.

Once I get the rest of the stuff I'll do a sight tube, but I'm just getting this in so I can get my drive shaft measured and ordered.

so to recap, originaly the D 300 uses about 4 qts of oil. cloked up so it's "flat" how much should I use?

    thanks guys

When I flipped and clocked my D300, I put the original 4 quarts in it and everything looked good. Well, I started driving down the road and the D300 started puking gear oil out the breather. I let it go until it leveled itself and found it's happy spot. I think I have been running 2-ish quarts for the last 4 years with no issues.

Well I think the concensus is 2-3 PINTS LMAO 4 Quarts is a GALLON ... and a NV4500 this is NOT but I knew there was a 4 in there somewhere.

Well I'm off to do a BIT of preasure washing, and then when the hobby shop opens.... CLOCKING TIME.

I'll try to get BETTER pics this time... the gears and lockers were ALL day events, and NO time for pics
I'm HOPEING I'll be able to do better this time.

and it's gonna look WAY SEXAAYYYEERR INSTALLED

Hey John, do you have any body lift? I have a 1''BL and was able to clock mine flat. With out the body lift, th Tcase will hit the tub. Here's how tight mine fit:

The tranny mount still hangs low, but overall, it's better than it was for clearence.

Looks good as long as you keep just getting parts you can swap over to the Scrambler you know you want...

well I did NOT go TOTALY flat. I guess the one just under it.

I have a 1" BL so I knew that would free up some room

BUT NOTE TO EVERYONE PUT THE SHIFTER BOLT BACK IN BEFORE YOU MOUNT THE CASE!!!! ;( I forgot to do that HA HA

BUT look to the left of the nut and you will see how I solved that issue

we ended up cutting an inch out of the shifter and then heating it up and bending it to fit... I just painted it and got the boot installed about 5 min ago.

I did NOT get any oil puking out the breather, so I figure I'll add some more oil till it does that.

THE NICE THING is I got rid of the T case drop. I was ALMOST at the MAX on DS travel, and could NOT do it without the drop. NOW that the T case is 3/4" further back it gave me the room I needed.

I know this is WAY more expensive than the one bill installed
    BUT look at these parts

I figuerd since I will do the 4 to 1 gears AND the new 32 spline front and rear output shafts, Doing this would give me basicaly ALL new internals in the t case.

I call it piece of mind

well after sitting there STARING AT IT I'm thinking about pulling it back out and moving it up some more. I believe I have AMPLE room by the ear for the shifter bolt (well I have my nifty hole to get it in and out LMAO)

My real question is the "interfearence studs" can I pull them out and then re use them or are they a one shot deal?
that will keep me from adjusting it tomorrow if they are a one shot deal.
