    Question Bestop Sunrider Soft Top

Does anyone have the Bestop Sunrider on a CJ? If so how do you like it, as far as quality, durability, ect. I would like one, but would like some opinions from someone that has one before I shell out almost $800 and decide it's not all that it's cracked up to be.

I have the sunrider on our 2006 Wrangler Unlimited. We used it quite a bit when we were in DC since the Pentagon Police counted a jeep with the top completely off as a vehicle that was not able to properly secure the parking pass. They would take the parking pass from the vehicle and I would have to go inside to get it back from them. To save time and give me some air and sun on the way home, I would pop the sunrider top back rather than waste time dropping the top when I got out of work only to put it back up as soon as I got back home.

While we don't have it on a CJ, it is likely the same deal. We liked it, but don;t use it anymore down in Texas because I leave the top down or completely off most of the time anyway.

Like miljeep, I have a 2005 Unlimited, not a CJ.

I absolutely love my sunrider top. Most of the time I do not have time to completely drop the soft top and put it back up day to day. So when I want some open air I just flip it back. Here in VA the weather constantly changes. Its nice - no its raining - no its nice - no its raining. (Roll eyes) So the sunrider is great to quickly flip open or closed.
05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.

That's pretty much the reason I'm looking at the sunrider, same crap in GA this time of year, is it gonna be sunny or rain who knows. Plus I have no where to store the hard top if I bring it down with me, wife ordered the top today so hopefully it will be sitting in MN when I get back from the box!!

    Thanks for the opinions guys

Good luck! I really hope it works out for you. Besttop has been a sore subject for many of th guys on CJ-8 (Scrambler) site. Ever since BT moved their production down to Mexico the quality control has been in the toilet and customer service is a wheezing old nag. Not quite dead but not far from it. If you got the 2pc soft doors as well, pay close attention to how the frames are constructed. Assemble them the first thing out of the box to ensure they go together...they may not. And to get BT to get you ones made the way they are supposed to will be an uphill battle. Not sure if it applies to the sunrider or other models of CJs but there is also something about the install of the top that is wrong in the instructions. Sorry I don't remember what off the top (no pun intended!) of my head but you really want to look into that before drilling any holes? Just my two cents of assistance?
