Default Looking for a place to buy 35 inch tires with cheap or free shipping

My tires are looking as though they are dry rotting. Possibly from the heat down here and the fact they were sitting for a year while I was gone???

Anyway, we slashed one on a rock the other day and I have no spare, and another one of the tires has a chunk taken out of the side that looks like someone scraped it with a knife, but it was likely caused by a rock on the trail.

Our wheels are Mickey Thompson Classic II. They suck. They have got so beat up, chipped, the edges shaved sharp, etc, by rocks that I am looking to get new wheels. I want something cheap and black.

I have been looking at the offroad parts sites, but even if they offer free shipping, they want a crazy amount of money for their "heavy item surcharge". One place wanted 65 bucks each tire as a heavy item surcharge, but they were going to give me free shipping. WTF?

Here is what I am looking for:

    (5) wheels, black 15x8 5x4.5 for a 2006 Wrangler Unlimited.

    (4) BF Goodrich KM2 tires, 35 x 12.5 x 15 (I already have a new one that was our spare)

    I found this on tirerack.com:

    BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 - $193 each
XD Series Enduro (Black) - $99 each

total of $1267 plus $172 bucks for UPS Ground. That still beats JCWhitney's 65 bucks a tire heavy item surcharge.

I spend 40 bucks a pop on black steelies and 199 bucks per GY m/t kevlar's at discount tire.

I would say go to discount tire, and call it a day.

I was looking for some low price black steelies, but tirerack.com did not have them so i picked the next closest thing. I am going to have to see if we have a discount tire around us.

They are also called American Tire. I have no clue what brand they are, I just asked for black 15x8 wheels and they were like "cheap or expensive?"

Check with the 3 big guys of the 4x4 world. 4wheelParts/4WDhardware, National tire and wheel, and Summit. These guys are sometimes like Home Depot/Lowes as you can do the "well your compitition sells this cheaper will you matche it" game...
I don't know what the Discount tire at Hood is smoking but try this..
    Discount tire direct.com
Their ad in the Fourwheeler specifically shows KM2s! And black steelies!
I would avoid the less traveled places like Firestone or Pepboys if your specifically after BFGs. Also, local 4x4 shops are almost allways a higher premium, esp around a military base!

Good luck hunting. I looked around for a long time and couldn't find 16" tires for a reasonable price. I was looking at MT/Rs, KM2s and finally settled for Duratracs. The best price that I found was actually through Sears. I checked Sears for you, and they don't have anything in a 35" flavor. I went with metric 315 x 75 x 15, and nothing 15", but they do have 16". If you want to save a buck, they have Hankook Dynapro MTs for $140 right now in a 315 x 75 x 16. I know they aren't the MT/Rs.

    Ryan,

Those bling rims are gonna look like ass once you scratch tru the powder coat to the aluminum playing in the rocks.

If you are really beating on your wheels that hard, Id get some of the fake beadlock style wheels with replaceable outer rings. Once you beat em up - just replace the outer rings. (I like aluminum wheels as the brakes are already marginal on the LJ and heavy steelies would only make it worse.)
05 LJ Unlimited Rubicon. RE 3.5" short arm lift. 1" body and motor mount lift. 35" BFG M/T KMII's. 5.13 gears. Skid row and Jeep Medic belly up skid plates. Rokmen and Jeeperman bumpers. PSC rockers and full corners. Line X'd interior. Warn 9.5ti. Dual batteries. Dual tops. Snorkel. Full and half doors.
