Default Can you run 35's on JK Auto with stock gears and auto transmission?

Does anyone know if there are issues with Gear ratio changing to 35s on JK with an Auto transmission?

What is your current gear ratio? I'm running 35s with a 6 speed with 4.10s but will be regearing in the future to 4.88s at least. It does all right with 4.10 but can use a boost because 6 gear is only used on level or downhill stretches. An auto needs more gearing than the 6 speeds.

I think it's 3.73...I have an unlimited Sahara and hoping I don't regret going with 35s. I was going to put on 33s, but the 35s were actually cheaper

It will be a stretch, most folks with JK Unlimited's, automatics and 35s or 37s run 5.13 or 5.38 ratios. Check out JKOwners.com, tons of info in their forum.

Here's a good reference chart for wheel size/gear ratio
    http://www.offroaders.com/tech/gear-ratio-chart.htm

I'd be going with at least 4.56's minimum if you're gonna run 35's, but with an auto maybe 4.88's

JK's are a different breed the little engine hurts stock. 456's and 488's are not low enough, most guys are saying 513's or 538's for 35's-37's.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I ran my 2009 Unltd X auto on 35s with the 3.73s. It was a dog at first, but I did put on a cold air intake and an additional increase from the exhaust I added and it helped enough. I think I ended up getting back to where I started horsepower wise (give or take). I added a throttle body spacer to see if it would help at all with fuel mileage, but it didn't make a lot of a difference. About 2 weeks ago I upgraded to 4.88s and I have been pleased with the improvements from the change. That's what I know from personal experience.
