    Default Iron Rock Off Road

Input? I am looking at the critical path 7" long arm front short arm rear. Also their SYE kit and drive shaft. I will be running 35's when all is said and done.

Besides input on IROR I am wondering what gear ratio I should go to.

For those who don't know or remember I have a 1997 ZJ limited with the 5.2 8cyl.

    Thanks guys!

Ken (Irish_Assassin) has the long arm IROR kit I believe and he's running 35s.

You can run 35's with just a bit of trimming, and the general concinsous across all the grand forums I'm on is that for dd duty 4.56-4.88 are your best bet. But I would go with the clayton kit instead, it has a metric shit ton of more adjustability, and it triangulates the rear and let's you ditch the rear TB. And I would also suggest getting a NP231 and a Advance Adapters SYE kit, and a custom made shaft, yes it will cost more, but the quality versus saving money is worth more in my book. Also when you go that low of gears on a short arm be prepared to start ripping ca mounts off the uniframe and avoid lockers on shortarms ( ask me how I know)

I'm running the 5.5 CP. I have 4.88 gear ratio. Now gear ratio's sometimes can bring a debate because 4.56 has a slightly thicker ring gear compared to the 4.88 which could mean added strength. But my honest opinion is that I like the lower gear ratio and I really don't see me wearing through the gears that quickly.

It also depends on what rearend he's running, is it the zj/wj 44A or the 35, or is an axle swap in the near future? All honesty I wouldn't trust the factory grand lp 30 or 44 on 35's, 33's max for being reliable. Of course a hp30 and 8.8 would be able to take the abuse, a super 30 and super 8.8 would be grand. (pun intended)

I can't wait for IRO to start selling that truss! I wouldn't mind turning my axles into supers!
