    Default TJ Radiator Leak

A few days ago I noticed a radiator fluid leak coming from evaporator drain tube coming out of the firewall. Then just out of curiosity I took out the carpet on the passenger side in order to find out if there was a leak inside as well. As a result there is a radiator fluid leak coming from the lower passenger side vent. Can this be caused by anything other than the heater core? And if it is the heater core and I need to replace it do I need to have the A/C discharged as part of the process?

I looked thru the FSM and it says that you will have to discharge the ac system. It looks like the heater core and ac condensor are in the same housing.

There are a few threads on this over at Jeep Forum i can't find the thread I am thinking of right now. Some good, some bad. But if I remember right get ready to roll your sleeves up. I'm pretty sure the whole dash has to come out to do it without cutting anything up. I would bite the bullet and get a mopar one, not a job I would recommend having to do twice due to a poor quality aftermarket heater core. You will definitely need to have the AC evacuated.
