    Default 550 cord fixes

Mostly started this thread to see what anyone else has done with 550 cord, (or parachute cord.) Here is a mod that I had done. I got tired of those stupid/cheap door stops that break,so I figured i would try something that could withstand 550lbs of pull. I used the braid that those nifty bracelets are made of. If you want to use my idea I can post up instructions on how to do the braid.

I also use 550 cord to hold down the back part of my soft top, when i "convert" it to a safari top. I just tie it around the frame and tie the other part to a couple holes in the body.

That looks like a good idea...

I'll have to look around and see what I've used 550 for... I do know that I use to make key chains with it!

Be careful, everyone seems to call all types of parachute cord "550 cord". Not all "550 Cord" can withstand 550 pounds.

Used the 550 cord as a fan belt on a 76 Cougar when the belt broke, on a Sunday afternoon in the middle of nowhere in Texas

pulled out the guts and made a nifty knife handle with the sheathing. Wish I still had that Cold Steel pig sticker!
