i ran an old military .25 ton trailer, dont remember the M#. we were going up thompson hill and one of our group was posing for a picture flexed out and thought he just could roll over the rock. he ended up flopping. i pulled around get past him and flip around so i could use my winch to get him back on all 4's. trying to back up after i got hung up once (1 ton jeep on 42's and plenty of power) i tried to go back forward. a rock got wedged in between the tongue and my rear quarter after the trailer jack knifed. i was planning on unhooking the trailers, even though loaded with all our gear, was atleast 1500lbs including trailer. i know more than you think but less than i had planned. there was a few more times that i used it and the coupler would get hung up and not flex or i would have to back up a couple feet to squeeze between 2 trees and the trailer made it very difficult. at one point i unhooked it, drove up the DIRT HILL and turned around and just drug the damn thing up it with a strap. you might think a regular locked up jeep is pretty capable, try adding in a trailer... even empty running around johnson valley i would never use one again.

*edit* i used a 360* rotating pintle hitch in a raised receiver hitch in my bumper to tow it. i looked and cant find any pics of it on our new computer.
