    Default AX 15 Rebuild

Anyone in the Color Springs know how to rebuild a ax 15 tranny? Think my syncro's are going out and it is driving me nuts. I would like to fix it before I grind the gears to hell. It's my only wheels right now.

Symptoms include: Grinding on high RPM shifts, and downshifts. Have to downshift at low speed to get it into lower gears, don't like to shift into low gears when stopped. Sometimes there is clutch slap(?) after backing up.

Parts Changed: Clutch, pressure plate, slave & master cylinder.

    Any help would help.

before you rebuilt it snail do an oil change. the ax 15 is horrible when the fluids are old. go with amsoil, redline or royal brands it costs a hair more but it will be amazing as to the difference.

I got my jeep with 36k on it 1 owner before me. I could litterally not go into 2nd up shift or into 1st on a down shift. When cold- ferget aboutdit- grind me a new ratio.
I changed out the fluid and pow like new

I changed the fluids when I got it. Unfortunately, I was only able to get a Quaker State GL5 Synthetic. I just don't want to throw $40 in fluids in to find out it didn't help any. I guess that I could give it a shot though.

the ax 15 is also very picky about which oils you use in it
