Default need to replace shocks for 6" lift - any thoughts?

bought a 6"full traction suspension lift so i went ahead and bought the FT shocks with it. not bad i guess. kind of stiff though. wheel'n the other day and both rear shocks made contact with the lower spring mount. leaked oil everywhere. been researching monotube shocks since you can mount them upside down so that'll give me more clearane between the shock and the lower spring mount. only heard bad things about the new M-Force from FT. rancho had bad customer service revews. ProComp MX-6 has setting that i guess are hard to adjust while installed from what i read and do not like salt water (winter salting of roads).

Rancho 9000's suck balls for lighter trucks. My FSJ is pretty heavy and still rides like a dump truck on them. My springs are pretty worn in too. They just seem to have a LOT of positive pressure.

You can also just move your shock mounts. You are having this problem because the lift wrapped your mounts too far underneath, right? 4" wheel-grinder and a little welding. Have a buddy do it or pay out. Quick job and would be pretty cheap if you cut them off yourself.

1 properly measure for what size you need.
2 in my case rustys 33 inch worked and price is right for ruining them

to me unless you are prerunning a shock is a shock. Just measure once and go cheap so replacement wont break you

obviously youve never ran a quality shock. you need to get some lower mount relocators. it pretty common for this to happen with TJ's.

I'm not a big fan of the relocators, I've seen quite a few posts of the lower shock mounts ripped off while using them. When you do change out the shocks.... take a grinding wheel to your lower spring perches. You can remove a decent amount to clear up some extra space for your shocks.
