The ride down was a bit windy with some snow but I80 didnt look too bad

My alt gage was jumping all over the place. So a quick stop at the AZ in morris and we found a 136a alt for a 98zj would do the trick. And a little help from my friends

Senecca exit wasnt too far off. That when we noticed the drifting was gonna be intereasting

Being that we were running late we paid and aired down as a group that I met up with from FB rolled in. All acounted for we had a quick drivers meeting for saftey and everyone agreed with the conditions it was going to be a matter of survival and we were going to try and run 1 and see how it went.

Being in the lead I started up the hill from the lot. I got half way and my tires started to spin and the jeep slid backwords all the way back down. My daughter does a great impression of me looking back saying I am gonna hit him I am going to hit him....lol.

So across the creek we went. The first hill across the creek we all made it up except the last 2. They had slid and gotten sideways and winched the rest of way. Sorry I forgot camera for that.

On that side of 1 there are a couple bogs on the left. The s10 behind me decided to take a bite of the first one and was succesfull.

Not as succesfull on the next.

For some reason unknown to us the s10 was harder to pull out then it should be.
Is ronhob compensating for something with his shackle size.

After some bone jerking yanks and some 4.0 rev limiter the s10 came free to reveal she was impaled on a little something.

We were back on the roll.

We made our way across the creek to another larger hill. I made it about 10-15 ft from the top and slid all the way back down. So we gathered up the drivers and discussed splitting up in groups. 1 would work there way down the creek and 3 back to the lot. Butt machine 154 wanted to try that hill.

    Then tried a different approach

I got to try out new sears plat battery and 136a alt. My 8274 winched his rear back over with use of a nicely placed snatch block.

Once back with the group machine 154 vote changed to creek...

Got a couple quick flex shots

Just because the road stops doesn't mean you have to!

Snow is great...Its the ice that makes things intereasting. Really have to try and stay pointed up hill so if you slide its beck where you came from. And throttle control is a biggie. Give it just the right amount to keep you moving but not spin. Click on the video links to see what i mean . in one his ass slid . we had to use a snatch block and intereasting angle to pull his rear over so he could slide back down without hitting a tree

Temp went up to 35 and solid rain for 24hours then turned to ice and a couple inches of powder. By the time we got there it was around a high of 10-15 with -10wind chill. Ground was frozen before rain so not much place for run off or absorbtion. It was the ice bowl.

In the group shot you can see the hill I slid 1/2way down to start the day. Not that big but in ice...
