When ya doing the work??? I think Shanksville is only a couple hours away...
Yes Fellow Sports Fans, it's time for Tsgtbob's WrenchFest2008!!!
Get 'cher tickets now, for the exciting week of wrenchin' on a pair of old assed Jeeps an XJ getting a tranny, and an MJ getting an engine!!!
Seriously, after way too much procrastination, I'm finally taking some vacation time, and getting some long put off maintenence done on the Jeeps.
Case in point, the MJ, has been down for it's engine for nearly 3 years!Gawd, I love putzin' with a 2.5 (not) and installing a Pukegoat tranny in the Better Half's XJ. That project has been delayed since March. A coat of paint from Tractor Supply is also in store for the XJ. Black, I'm sick of seeing that gawdaweful faded AMC silver, plus, I want her to get through another couple of winters.
Heck, I might even get the lift on it. Gotta "steal" the rear springs from someone's "hangar queen" plus, maybe snatch the nosecone from it for the MJ.
(It's an XJ waggy. Given my somewhat odd sense of humor, I just HAVE to put that goofy quad headlight nosecone on an MJ. And I thought I got "WTF is THAT thing" a lot before...)

Week after the fourth.
I'm on the Pittsburgh side of the state.
Ahhh... ok, then it's a bit longer than just a couple of hours...
WrenchFest is rapidilly approcahing!
Starting Monday, I'll be under my Jeeps, instead of my Eldest son's FSJ Waggy (where I spent last night) I'm even adding a extra event, called the Rust Relay!
Seems the Tomkin bumper's powdercoat has surrendered, so. I'll be sanding it down for a coat of good old fashioned (hard as nails too) Rust-Oleuim
Hey 20 years too late I used to live in Lower Burrell off rt 28 about 26 miles or so north east of Pittsburgh. Still have family up there...good luck
Wish you were a bit closer, but unfortunately there's guys in my area with need of help that weekend. Good luck and post pics.
WrenchFest, Day Two
Day one of WrenchFest was a washout. Seems a greetings from the CinC and the IRS made for poor working conditions in the Garage of Doom.
Yes, fellow sport wrenching fans, the Stimulus Check showed up!!!!
Needless to say, I spent most of the day stimulating the economy
I did however, get a couple of mechanical projects done. A cyclo-computer on the Pinarello (racing bike) and a new seat on the daughter's bike. (That bike had the World's Worst seat on it. It was a real pleasure to throw that abomonimation on the burn pile!)
Today, the south bay of the Garage of Doom will be vacant, for the first time in a year and a half, and the XJ should be in and started getting a tranny installed by tonight.
pics bro!! we need to see pics!!
No pics, nor progress.
Got shanghaied into another project. Lost of "love time" with the welder, making a trailer dolly for the neighbor.
